The Bicycle Safety Improvement Fund (BSIF) was established at the request of citizens who want to contribute to expedite bicycle safety improvements provided by the City of Newport Beach. 

In October, 2012 Sharrow markings were installed on the street pavement from MacArthur to Poppy Avenue promoting proper lane positioning through Corona Del Mar.  Additional signage along Coast Highway was placed to enhance awareness of bike riders in the area.
